Ethics and Ethical Standards for PharmacistsBoundaries Course

Course Description

This CPD course provides pharmacists in Qatar with a comprehensive understanding of ethical and professional standards in pharmacy practice. It explores the moral responsibilities of pharmacists as medication experts, patient counsellors, and healthcare partners. Participants will learn how to apply ethical principles — autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, and integrity — to real-world challenges such as patient confidentiality, informed consent, dispensing ethics, and managing conflicts of interest.

Aligned with the ethical codes and professional expectations of the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) and the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), the course examines how pharmacists can uphold honesty, accountability, and cultural sensitivity in a multidisciplinary and multicultural healthcare system.

Designed for continuing professional development, reflection, or remediation, this course helps pharmacists strengthen trust, insight, and professional responsibility in daily practice across Qatar’s community, hospital, and clinical pharmacy settings.
