Ethics and Ethical Standards for Nurses and Midwives

Course Description

This comprehensive CPD course is designed for nurses and midwives practising in Bahrain, including those currently under investigation, involved in NHRA fitness to practise proceedings, or undertaking remediation or reflective learning.

It explores the ethical foundations that guide safe, compassionate, and accountable nursing and midwifery practice. Aligned with the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) Code of Ethics for Healthcare Professionals, this course highlights the importance of honesty, integrity, respect, and patient-centred care in every professional interaction.

Through case-based scenarios, reflective exercises, and ethical reasoning, participants will learn how to navigate complex situations — including confidentiality breaches, consent, boundaries, and teamwork dilemmas — while upholding professional and cultural values unique to Bahrain’s healthcare system.

Completion of this course provides credible evidence of ethical learning, reflection, and remediation for submission to the NHRA or employers as part of ongoing professional development or fitness to practise improvement.
