Ethics and Ethical Standards for Nurses and Midwives

Course Description

Ethics and Ethical Standards for Nurses and Midwives (UAE) is a CPD course designed to help nurses and midwives understand, apply, and demonstrate ethical practice in accordance with the UAE’s professional and regulatory codes of conduct.

Ethical nursing and midwifery practice is central to compassionate, safe, and trustworthy care. The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH), and Emirates Health Services (EHS) each define ethics as a core condition of registration and licence renewal.

This course explores the four ethical principles — autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice — alongside regulatory expectations in areas such as consent, confidentiality, dignity, advocacy, professional boundaries, and digital professionalism.

Through UAE-specific examples, reflection points, and case studies, participants will gain the tools to navigate ethical dilemmas confidently, demonstrate accountability, and align daily care with the UAE’s standards of patient-centred, culturally respectful practice.
