Ethics and Ethical Standards for Dentists and Dental Professionals

Course Description

Ethics and Ethical Standards for Dentists and Dental Professionals (UAE) is a CPD course designed to help dental practitioners understand and apply ethical principles within UAE regulatory frameworks.

Dentists and dental professionals hold a position of trust, balancing technical skill with moral responsibility. Ethical conduct underpins safe, patient-centred, and transparent dental care. The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH), and Emirates Health Services (EHS) make it clear that ethics are a condition of registration and licence renewal, not an optional virtue.

This course explores the four ethical principles — autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice — alongside topics such as consent, confidentiality, financial transparency, boundaries, advertising ethics, and digital professionalism. Through UAE-specific examples and practical guidance, participants will gain the skills to navigate ethical dilemmas, protect patients, and maintain professional integrity.
